I have a poted 88 na track only car. I'm hitting the rev limit at about 8k the car is still pulling untill that point. How can I change the rev limit. What should I check or modify to make sure it lasts for a while revving to a little over 9k.

thanks

Dave

It needs internal work, hardened stationary gears,e-shaft, clutch scattershield etc. Lots of money.

poted. dam thats sucks reving the car to 8k with holes in the car lol. Nah im just joking. I think that if you have it ported you can rev way past 8k . How to change it i have no clue. What kinda port did you get. How much HP u got. How much torque u got?

I think it's a bridge port bought it in boxes the engine was put together so I'm not sure. I don't have any dyno numbers it has great power up high below 4k it's pretty weak.

chill out guys, he has a running race car (sounds bridged, what does it idle at?) if you are running stock ecu (unlikely since it is a bridge) then get it 'remapped' with a higher rev limit, if its standalone (god i love my standalone) then change it yourself (god i love changing it myself).

sorry guys I haven't been back for a while. The care idles at about 1k. I think it's a stock ecu. What are some good stand alone cpu's ? How hard is it to program? If the internals are stock how high can I rev it before it flys apart. It doesn't have to last forever , but I don't want it to scatter right away.

Thanks
