Okay, I was driving today in the hot sun and I noticed that at above 50% the oil pressure guage was higher than normal. At times it would go to 110. It would still drop down at idel but not to 30. Tonight it seemed fine. Should I be concerned or was it just a fluke because it was hot out and the engine was warm. Also the car temp guage was reading normal. Thanks.

Eh, I dunno about this... My FC's oil pressure gauge started acting mighty weird , and the day it started doing it , the temp outside was like 90 something. It would appear normal, but suddenly fly to 110, drop down a bit, fly to 110, go back to 30 (normal idle) , slowly fall to zero then FLY back up to 110 and repeat the process.

If your temp gauge looks okay and your car acts fine, it's probably the sending unit or the gauge itself...I mean...these cars at their oldest ARE 20 years old now... that's a long time.

i'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one with this problem. It still shoots up to 110 at slow speeds and holds steady at 80 when I"m at full throttle. It'll drop down at idel but not to 30 when the engine is warm. I just installed a new header but I don't think that would effect the oil pressure. There was a small opening that exhaust gas went to that I covered up but all of the headers that are online don't have a special tube like the OEM manifold. IF anyone knows what I'm talking about and knows if blocking the port is bad let me know. Thanks. also the car doesn't run worse with the crazy oil guage.

Replace that sending unit....I think it's below the oil filler neck....
