high idling

ok got it runnin everything seems good lgot a 1700rpm idle though is that normal?

about a thousand rpms to high, should be around 700 to 800

the idle should be at about 1500 rpms when cold once warmed up idle should drop down to about 750 rpm

Did u just install this engine? Is the throttle body different then the block? If so u prolly would want to check the tps. If that is good then u could turn the screw that is on top of the trottle body. Dont twist if it doesnt want to go any further. If that doesnt change then put it back. What i prolly thing would be the better awnser is adjusting the thermowax screw. thinking to close it... counterclockwise. This is what i know from my 91. 86-88 designs are different also so check with a manual first.



Maybe later you could help me with my idle problem.
