Well i got a problem. My car idles too high. When i start it it goes straight to 1500rpm (on a cold start it stays there for a while) and then drops to 1k. I noticed this happened after my mother sent the car to a shop for maintenance. It used to do that 3k rpms startup thingy and then drop to about 800.



I tried messing with the idle screw on top of the intake manifold (this is a 87 n/a) but that did nothing.

Also theres popping in the exhaust at idle as well (i think it running rich).

 

thats all normal. its supposed to go to 3000 rpm for 30 seconds, if the temp is under 65f. and then it should idle at around 1500rpms until the temp needle starts to move then it should drop down to its 800ish rpm idle.



the popping between 1200-2000rpms is normal
