somewhere in that red circled area is the ecu ground, they had problems with it being loose from the factory, its also easily missed when you change the motor

Does that ground connect to the firewall above the vin #? If so, it was disconnected but I reconnected it and it made no difference. But thanks for the pic.

no the ecu ground goes from the engine harness to the top of the motor.

the one at the fire wall is something else

so would I have to get a new wiring harness and if i do would anyone know much one would cost

mazdaspeed101 10-23-2002 09:39 PM

do i have to remove anything to get to that harness like intercooler or intake manifold

I've also heard the position of the MAF may contribute to the hesitation. For example, some of the intakes require you to twist around the MAF from its original position like the BONEZ.... Also, I heard an extra ground on your fuel pump may help.

usually you just have to make sure that the ground is clean and tight. since you in there running a wire from that to the battery might not be a bad idea

i think i might have an intake leak or a bad vacuum line because i can hear air when the engine is running i think i might have might have a bad intake manifold gasket. would that effect anything
