ok so maybe this is either an n/a mount, an s5 mount, maybe my tranny is an s5/ or vice versa. How can I tell what series my tranny is?

The metal part with the big stud is different for 87-88 and 89-91 TII transmissions. They're not really interchangeable. The 2 rubber mounts bolt to that part, and then they bolt onto the crossmember.

There should be a place on the transmission for the metal piece with the big stud to bolt onto. You need that metal piece and the proper crossmember, along with new rubber mounts if those are worn out.

Thats what i kept asking people if i was missing a piece on my tranny, ok thxs ace, now i just gotta find somewhere to get one. Mazdatrix does not have it. Guess i will run to the dealer tommorrow. Those are competition mounts and have only been used slightly. What weird about this mount is the part that is supposed to screw into the tranny is welded, that big bolt is welded on the top( as you can see in the very first pic). Thxs for all the help.

I guess I'll reply here for the others that don't read the "other forum"

looks like an S5 mount. same as mine. but the bottom of the tranny looks diff.

my best guess is it's an S5 mount, and S4 tranny. and they must be different.

here's mine
