??? Okay I have this 86 RX-7 I just tried to wire in my radio and bought the Metra wiring kit and no sound what's up? I also have a funny smell coming from under the hood it smells like gas butI see no leaks from injectors. The car sat for about six months before I bought it and seems to be running a little better now that it has been driven a little. I hope it just needs to be run what do you guys think?

Try checking out the car while the front is jacked up and it's running.

It could help you find a fuel leak. The fuel lines run under the car.

"Ooooh that smell, can't ya smell that smell."

Sorry, that song just popped in my head after reading your post.

Yea if you didn't already I would recheck all the wires for the radio. You could start at the fuel filter on the driver side firewall/fender and work your way up and around checking for leaks.

Okay I figured out the prob. with the radio. I had an amp nuilt into the dash for my two front speakers so I had to disable that and then I found a found my rear speakers both had individual amps built into the housings they sat in so I just took these out reconnected the wires for now I will be buying new speakers but for now I Ijust reconnected the old ones.

I will check for that leak today I am doing an oil change and I am going from god knows what for oil to Mobil 1 Tri-synthetic 15w-50 any body think this is a bad idea.?

I've never tried to figure out why they recommend the use of mineral oil but anyway, since we have to add a quart of oil every 1000-1500 miles, it seems to me a good reason not to pay for synthetic oil. I just use a good quality mineral oil. :notify:

I think it is because the synthetic oil won't burn as well as the mineral oil and will leave more deposits and such in the engine. Here is a link to a faq page that talks about it.synthetic oil

This is a very interesting webpage, Isamu. A little of everything that applies to rotaries and well explained. :thumbs-up:
