I was driving my 89' gtus down the road and i see a big smoke cloud comming from the exhaust and it makes a knocking noise kinda loud. I was wondering if i'm screwed or what? I read somewhere about a knocking noise and it said that i needed to clean the internals. Suggestions or anything would be helpful??

Do i have to replace the motor or what?? I'm soo stressed out it's not funny.

Thanks guys.

If you have clouds of smoke and knocking sounds, it may be beyond ATF my friend. Get out the compression tester.

Just because he got some detonation doesn't mean that he blew an apex seal yet. Don't be the ******* that always jumps to that conclusion.

Like vosko said, it's time to get out the compression tester and see what's up.

Ha...oops...I thought it was you that said it.

reeding iz fundamendal.

We all know some rotary engines (MINE!) can handle a lot of detonation without crapping out and some die the first time.
