Thats what I was saying...It's like the guy knows quite a bit about rotaries but still called it a 4 cylinder.

Get a pic of the engine bay. That will tell you if its really a four cylinder. A while ago, there was a guy selling a FD for $6,000 only because he had no idea what was in the engine bay. Sure enough, it was a 13B. Take adavantage of stupid people. They save you money.

I think the guy doesn't know anything about his car, and paid someone else to do all the work. "I've got money. Here, make it go fast!"

The number one rule about looking at cars is to never look at a car that is wet, especially in the rain, Water hides the fact that the paint is faded on more than just the mirror on that car, and the fact that there may be bondo in the car already from a previous paintjob. As with any car have a mechanic you know or trust look at the car before purchasing the vehicle. You may find out too late that you need a complete brake job, the clutch is on its last legs or that the oil is still the original, he just kept dumping oil in the car... Not to shy you away from rotaries, but you really need to do your homework before you shop, there is a good writeup at the top of this forum about buying a used RX-7 and some things you need to check before you buy it. All these things mentioned can be fixed without too much problem, but they are bartering tools in the price. If at all possible have the individuals spouse come out and talk with you as well, there have been many a time that somebody trying to hide something will have a spouse that will slip on what is truly wrong, or what may have happened to the car in the past, another reson is they are also good with the bartering, if you low ball, the spouse may bug the hell out of the seller to dump the car for that price.

He already said in a email it's a 13b and said where it was rebuilt and everything..
