Thumbs up

So i have a 88 S4 turbo II, and i just finished my engine swap from a 89 S5 turbo II. I switched all the acceries from the S4 to my new S5 engine and removed all emmisions while i was at it. So i finaly got her to start up and idle good, but then when i took her out for her first test drive i had to almost floor her to just get her to move. But then as soon as i hit 4,000 RPM its liek all the power hits at once and i go flying and its like this through every gear. Ive compression tested the engine and i have 110 in both rotors so i dont know. Then today i went out to try and start her up and look for vac leaks and i get in the car, turn the key and nothing. No clicking, nothing. So im completely lost with this car, i just put a new battery in about a week ago, and i tried jumping it just to be sure, but still nothing. So any help or advice would be appriciated. Thanx.

You used the S5 ECU right? Maybe no fuel from the primaries? Clogged injectors... did the motor run right before you dropped it in?

I used my S4 computer cause i switched everthign else over to S4 from the S5 engine, includeing my injectors. But here's a update, i went out today and jacked her up and relized that the black clip had come out of my starter so i plugged it back in and she started right up. So i drove right down to my friends house liek a 1/4 mile away and took it into his garage. I had read somethign from searching that soemone else had had this prob and soemone tolld em to check there injector wireing. So i did that and i noticed that the rubber stuff around the wireing had crumbled away, i rewrapped it and put everthign back together and now the car just doesnt have any power. It still has some at high rpm but its not kicking in the way it was before. So im outta idea's.

Hi. For this situation I woud sugest Double checking your timing STD/TD 20 degrees /5 degrees ATDC at idle. If your timing is good then move on to checking the knock control system.

When you say S5 engine with all acc.... you meant the whole engine including intake? Would an S4 ECU read an S5 MAFS correctly? Also doesnt an S5 use a 2 piece TPS?

ok Sorry everyone ive been in New Jersey the last week and havent been able to get to a computer to check this forum. But as far as the engine goes its just pretty much a S5 short block, the only thing left that are S5 acc are the turbo and manifold, and the intake manifold. Everythign else is from my old S4 engine, includeign the S4 throttle body,TPS, AFM, waterpump and houseing, and the injectors. But as i was driveing home from NJ i was thinking to myself, what could have changed with in the half hour of messign w/ her to make her from haveing power from only 4,000 rpm + to no power at all. And the only thing that changed was the spark plug wire order, cause the guy that had the car before me had the wires mixxed up on the coils witch threw me off. So im defently thinking its a spark issue now. Im going to go out tomorow and test both my coils and then i'll defenitly look into timeing and knock sensor controlls. Also another thing though, that im sure my timeing is horribly off is that when i changed my water pump and houseing i had to take off the mail pulley to access the one bolt, and it didnt even occor to my about the marks on the pulley so im not sure if there where they need to be to set the timeing. But thanx for the help and i'll keep yah updated tomroow mornig when i mess with her.
