wahoorex 09-15-2003 11:33 PM

What do u mean by goes to floor with ease ? do u mean it is really touchy or doesnt get your car to rev ?

FrestyleFC3S 09-15-2003 11:41 PM

it should go to the floor when you push it down... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif welcome to cars?

if you have cruise you can tighten it there if not I dont know

Dramon_Killer 09-16-2003 12:46 AM

That means your entire engine is bad. The gas pedal should not go completely down without at least 400 lbs of force. It shouldnt budge to anything less than the hardest kicks.

Honestly though, you can easily fix that. Just cut the throttle cable about 3 inches down from the throttle body and reattach the pieces together. It will make the cable tighter but it will also make the pedal a bit more stiff.

Apex13B 09-16-2003 04:56 AM

Adjust it numbnuts. Your an expert on this stuff by now i though

75 Repu 09-16-2003 04:58 AM

get the FSM (Factory service Manual) from FC3S.org.. it should explain how to adjust the height and maybe tension of the pedal..

car won't rev

75 Repu 09-16-2003 05:31 AM

Maybe the throttle cable got disconnected..

4RotorRocket 09-16-2003 06:00 AM

Maybe....probly....how do I get the intercooler off

DJ Blu 09-16-2003 08:33 AM

do you have a bicycle??? i hope so. the throttle cable is setup like the breaks on a bicycle. (I pm'd you this) so, adjust it accodingly, or re-attach it, or whatever.

best of luck...

let me know how it turns out.

FrestyleFC3S 09-16-2003 11:17 AM

taking the ic off

1. unscrew clamps on piping....

2. pull off

and get the fsm from teamfc3s.com ... they have a faster download .... fc3s.org goes like 20k/s

djgiantrobot 09-16-2003 11:38 AM

i REALLY hope that with the influx of really young people buying Tiis and this sort of car in general this is not the type of question that will be filling up the forum from now on. "how do i get the IC off?" "how do i wipe my own ass?" etc No attack on 4rotor specifically but you have to learn by doing, cuz even if someone tells you you'll have to figure it out anyway when you pry yourself off the computer and actually start to get your hands dirty.

so you've never read an FSM, you just dive into an engine block and "figure it out on your way"?

sure he should read the fsm and check but maybe he was in rush and just asked real quick, or maybe he was looking for hints that might be around as he didnt try to take it off yet and wanted to clarify if it would be difficult or not.

learning thru experience, yes this is true and one of the best ways. But entering a subject with a good grasp of what to expect allows you to learn more easily and quickly.

i hate this whole "lets attack young people" thing going on, older people suck too.

4RotorRocket 09-16-2003 03:32 PM

uhhh.....I did read it......I did take of the intercooler.....would like to clean it.

vosko 09-16-2003 03:36 PM

is there oil in the intercooler is that what you are trying to clean??

if you have a problem with the car. blueTii runs banzai racing in michigan which is a rotary shop. i'm sure he can get the car running for you

i agree everyone sucks, but come on. Removing the IC is pretty damn basic, i'm sure everyone would agree with that. Maybe the difference here is just that personally if i consult the FSM and then look at the car and ask a couple of people and then I STILL haven't solved the problem i'll post asking strangers what they think. I guess its still better than people tell me my car sucks cuz its not a third gen.

4RotorRocket 09-16-2003 07:47 PM

What was your point of that post? Its fixed but another problem has risin,a vaccum leak of some sort I gotta find it.Are there any lines known to crack all the time and have leaks?

all the lines are prone to this, the car is old, re-do ALL the lines now.

4RotorRocket 09-16-2003 09:07 PM

How much will this run me$?$

FrestyleFC3S 09-16-2003 09:16 PM

less than 40 bucks...deciding what kind you want to buy....just get normal 3/8 vac lines

and dj i agree with you....but its okay to come ask "how do i remove the turbo bolt" "how do i properly put in the apex seals while rebuilding"

and while im not bashing 4rr here....things like IC are VERY straightfoward ....so when hteres 2 screws and 2 hoses holding it on....im sure you can figure that out on ur own just by looking at it

Rob x-7 09-16-2003 09:18 PM

when I say redo the lines NOW, I mean while the car is apart and waiting for the throttle cable or whatever.

4RotorRocket 09-17-2003 12:19 PM

I think im gonna sell the TII **** this ****.Today another problem **** this ****.Supra time!!!

I was joking but there is another problem. My next car will be a 95 Supra no dout.So im gonna still be here till the wheels fall off. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

FrestyleFC3S 09-17-2003 02:19 PM

please go take ur throttle cable...wrap it around ur neck...then dangle from it...its a new type of stress relief...science is great

UniqueTII 09-17-2003 02:51 PM

The important lines to replace are under the UIM, and if getting the IC off was a challenge, the UIM is worse. It's a whole lot easier after the first time, though. Also, if you take the UIM off, replace that crappy coolant line under there.

and thoroughly check your pulsation damper, as it's been known to cause gas leaks and engine fires (it's the yellow plastic-looking thing at the end of your primary fuel rail)

someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this
