I have a problem with my headlights...the high beams do not work. What could be the cause of this?? I really not good with electrical diagrams / wiring and such, so I don't really know where to begin. I know there is alot of wiring that is not plugged into anything where the old filter box used to be. Does this have anything to do with it, if not where do the plugs go??



Also my turn signal running light does not run, but still flashes when turning, how can I get it to run again?



I know this is alot, but any help will be appreciated. THanks

The fillament is probably burned out in the headlamps or turn signals. You should double check the bulbs before you go any further.

 

I'd check the fuses before the bulbs (less work). Are the FD highbeams on a separate circuit from the lows? If that's not it (or the bulbs), I'd go looking for loose connections...maybe something that hangs out in the open and could get accidentally disconnected. I dunno what the FD headlight wiring looks like and where it runs...

 

my car is an FC...checked all the fuses, everything seems to be fine.

Those extra plugs wouldn't have anything to do with it would it??



Can you replace the bulb in a sealed beam headlight??

not unless you do the hella (or equivelent) H4 swap.. Sealed beam = sealed bulb. Most lighting problems that I've seen stem from the switch itself. Replace it and its harness if nothing else seems to work.

 

There is a separate relay that switches high & low beam. Low beam is on by default. If the high beam indicator does not come on on the dash, relay is most likely at fault. It is located next to the headlight relay on the relay pack in front of the raditor (Far left one I believe).

 

the dash blue light does come on...I'mk guessing that the high beam is burnt out...just kinda odd that both are burnt I think.
