My driver's headlight usually won't come up on its own. I have to go out and lift it up by hand. I can hear the motor, and it will go down properly. Every once in a while it will come up properly. How do I fix it?

I put my car away for the winter a couple of years ago, when it came out the one headlight would not come up. What i did was get under the car and turn the **** on the motor. eventually the motor poped up and down and worked perfectly since, check clearence then play with this **** I think it needs to be reset.
