Of course it is because it's a sealbeam headlamp. MANY cars use sealbeam headlamps, they are interchangeable. The bulb is intergrated into the housing. The BULB WATTAGE is what the law is about, not the lense, just so happens our bulbs are permanently mounted to the lense+housing.
Coverting the H4 acceptable headlamp housings will mean that you separate bulb from housing, so the laws still apply to bulb wattage. Just when you change the light it's the bulb only not the housing. There aren't any laws on lense+housing as long as they are not tinted housings. As far as aiming goes that's the drivers responsibility not the manufacturers fault. |

Is there a wiring kit with a relay for the higher wattage bulbs, or do we just toss one together? It seems like without a relay, the additional wattage may have a negative impact on the headlamp switch, which is already at it's limits in most cases.

I'd recommend a relay if you are going to run the high wattage bulbs. To be honest I had planned on getting one when I did mine, but I ended up just tossing them in and rolling with them, that was about a year ago LOL, I am running 80/100, but it's definetely something I would consider on anything over stock.

I ran the stock H4 bulbs for a year.. Like I was saying the only problem I had was a slightly hot harness plug but I think that was due to a bad ground.
I don't know if the regular H4s are higher wattage than DOT sealbeams. |

**** ME! Well I called to place the first order today and they told me 8 to 12 weeks! WTF is up with that?
