I've heard a couple times that the Racing Beat header/presilencer combo sounds bad with the factory mufflers. Anyone have a sound clip? I'd like to try this combo since I don't want my car to be real loud. I know it will be somewhat constrictive but its got to be better than a straight pipe replacing the convertors.

I have heard it before. Doesn't sound good at all, but then again it never sounds good with headers on..

It sounds pretty bad. Sorry I dont have a sound clip. You could put some m80's in a coffee can and listen to that if you want.

I drove around with that setup for a few months. yeah, it sounded like ***. Incredibly buzzy, loud, and annoying.

Thanks Baldy. Your description is what I needed. A description of why its bad not just someone saying it sounds bad. What did you change on yours, provided you kept the header, after you switched up parts from the factory mufflers?

from the presilencer, 2.5" pipe to a magnaflow muffler on the right side. It's just as loud, but the tone is easier to listen to. I like it, some may not. I'd say it's no louder than any coffee can/grapefuit launcher/ricer muffler I've heard. But there's a whole lot less buzzing, and more of the low tones in there. (I also noticed a power gain, and flames)
