When you say just drug it out and got it going, how long has the car been sitting? General stuff like plug wires, igniters fuel filter etc, been replaced yet? Any or all can cause performace issues.

The car sat for 2 years. Changed plugs and wires. Before it was parked I had to replace the turbo, all stock. The new one came out of a 36k mile car.

i have a 88 rx n/a. that has a all around hesitation. its really slow to rev up. the exhaust manifold glows red

after driving it. it has a bit of torque but seem to be lacking horsepower. it starts up right away. runs fine but lacks horsepower. there isnt alot of exhaust coming out of the exhaust. so i was thinking clogged cats but not sure any other ideas please help.

Now when I say sputter to me it feels similar to the fuel cut controller not being there. The car still goes when you punch it in that rpm ranges it just pops and spits and backfires. Also I drove thirty highway miles yesterday stopped at a store came back out and tried to start all it would do is spins over. So I hold the gas to the floor try again and after a sec or two it starts. Any suggestions?
