Ok, the deal is this. I picked up a 6 port last december. I paid $800 for a 86 with 17' wheels, coil over sleeves, and header back exhaust. The only problem is that the car had been really messed with. It didnt run very well, and almost none of the elecrtronics worked. Any ways, i worked all that crap to work, and still it ran bad.

Recently, I had a friend of mine rebuild a spare moter we had. We droped it in, and it wouldnt turn over, so we figured it needed some oil in the housings to get it that first compression. It worked, but the car wont hold an idle. It ran very strong when we had it going, but it stalls if you let it drop below 1500 rpms. After it dies, you cant get it started without droping more oil in the intake.

We are gonna put in a new harness and ecu this weekend, but im not sure what is really wronmg with it. A lot of things were missing from the engine bay. The vaccume lines are gone, ALL the things on the throttlebody, carbon canister... every last thing that can be removed wile still letting the car run were removed buy the guy i bought it from. Including the P/S, A/C, and air pump. i also noticed the solinoid resistor is missing.

Any opinions on what could be the problem?

if i was unclear on any thing, just say so and i will clear it up. thanks in advance.

did you let the car warm up, or does it die below 1500 when its cold. that can happen if you dothe tb mod, and it sounds like you do. You have to let it warm up on some cars before it will idle on its own.
