Hey guys what's up.

Well after 2 long great years with my FC i think it's time is finally up

I have put so much time and money into her. and even after the newly rebuilt engine. The time has finally come for the FD. There is only one problem. I cannot let her go! I was thinking of useing my FC as a down payment at a dealership i found the FD. But i dont think i can do it.

The FD i am looking at is a 93 R1 with 48,000 original miles. THe guy faxed over all the paper work and everything IS original. The car is absolutly beautiful. God can it be true? I am finally getting the dream car i've wanted since i was 15? I will keep you all informed on this in the next couple of weeks.

P.S The FC will never die! i could drive the FD on the weekends..(save the engine...ect.. and drive the FC during the week back and fourth to work.

Later, Markus

A little bit . Just a little.

I don't think I could ever let my FC go. It sat for over 4 years because I did not have the cash to put into it. I stared at it every day because it sat in the parking lot behind my office. I could not bear to part with the car. I knew one day I would be doing well enough to invest time and money into the car. That time came this year. It sounds crazy but I felt bad for the car and felt I owed it to her to get her running again.

I have noticed, including myself, that we talk about these incredible cars like they were human. They take on a life of their own. Maybe I feel the way I do because she was my first car that was not a hand me down from my older brother and I have been the only owner of the car (bought new in 1987). I feel I have something of value that many people may have owned at one time but few own today. I barely see any fc's on the roads here in Fort Worth.

So, like you Markus, I don't think I can ever part with my car. But if you have to at least you are trading an RX-7 for another RX-7 and not leaving the inner sanctum of RX-7 ownership. Good luck with the purchase.

And now, after re-reading this post, I will soon be seeking psychiatric therapy.

lol no dude. our cars are awesome. I dont know what it is about Mazda Cars. and the mazda rotary engine

But it really is the best car ever created. The engine is amazing.. the styling.. the handleing.. everything about the car's design was so well thought out. From the 1st gen to the 3rd. every RX-7 created has a place in my heart. Let's hope the Rx-8 holds up to it's heritiage....

off my own topic but.. I was sitting at a stop light coming to work today and there were 2 kids sitting in a 1st gen. poor little car was smoking and running rough an everything. the driver looks over at my and said "that's a nice car dude. what is it? I'm like Oh god. than he has the audasity to revv..revv.revvvvvv at me. I said to him. It's a Rotary' He said back.. yeah i got one of those too!! It's a turbo! Revv..revv.. revvv.. (smoke is billowing out of that poor little engine) I said yeah, sure it is.

Than i take off from the light as he stalls out trying to race me. I'm sorry but kids like that do not need to be within 100 yards of a rotary engine.

I felt bad for the car is my point. Every rotary. LONG LIVE THE ROTARY ENGINE. LONE LIVE A LITTLE COMPANY CALLED Mazda.

I may be crazy, but I treat both of my cars as if they were living. I often find myself patting the dash of my rx-7 in apology after a redline, or after hitting a pothole. Even my '84 rabbit GTI gets a lot of care from me. I only hope my cars love me as much as I love them
