Ok, here's a good one. My Battery guage works... but doesnt. sometimes, it drops to zero while i'm driving. I am possitive that nothing serious is going on, where does that guage connect to... so i can stop the short. also, when ever i am shifting... it's like i have a boost guage in my N/A

meaning... when i let off the throttle... it drops to zero volts, when rev it, it creeps to 12-13

what is causing my battery guage to do so?

wow ive never seen that before! its prolly just a matter of following the wire and looking for the loose connection. its alos possible that the guage is loose. i doubt your voltage drops to zero, because the car would stall

Yea, i know the (acctuall) voltage isnt dropping because... like you said.. the car would stall... but at idle it's

'reading' 0 Volts When i drive, and rev, and shift, and brake... it moves just like a turbo boost guage

--- In conjunction with the engine speed--- it's really F-in Wierd

The guage screws in to the back of the instrument panel. check for looseness. Basically the guage can read voltage from any wire, so it is no specific wire for the voltage guage.

Have you driven at night to see if your lights flutuate? Ran a voltemeter form the battery to inside to see what it does? Check that first

No.. my lights do not fluctuate... nor does my engine speed halter... or anything seem abnormal.. other than my guage looking like a Boost guage... moving and dipping along with the engine speed

it is by far the strangest thing i've ever seen.

you know what else it could be, is maybe you have a t2 ecu in there, they use the same wire i think. to find out you're gonna have to start poking around, its a simple system, and its prolly gonna be something stupid

The volt gauge in my '86 NA is screwed too.... drops to 0 volts then at some stage will pop back up to normal.... it doesn't act like a boost gauge tho. I'm guessing mine is just a loose connection somewhere. I'll add it to the list of things i'll fix "one day"

mine also drops to 0 every now and then, but I just tap the clear cover over it and it springs up...it's kinda weird actually tapping a guage and then it works...
