Well friday night after I worked a 9 hour shift, I started working on the AE. For those who don't know, the car would hesitate very bad from about 3700 rpm on up. So I replaced manifold/turbo gasket, UIM/LIM gasket, LIM/engine gasket, vacuume spider, and the 4 oil metering lines. Out of the 4 oil metering lines only 1 was hooked up and functioning correctly, 2 lines were broke, but had rubber vac. hose on the line going to the injector, needless to say that didn't work, and the other line was broken, and just sitting there squirting oil on the engine. The mnifold/turbo gasket had about a 3/4" section that was just blown out, and MIA. It was funnt too, I was able to pull 2 of the turbo bolts off by hand, and the other 2 were not tight at all. I also found that one of the secndairy injector plugs was not plugged in all the way. Well after working on the car for about 19 hours straight, I got it all back together, and running strong. I love it now! I need to replace all of the rubber lines under the hood though, alot of them are old, dry, stiff, or cracked. Does Mazda sell as kit with all of the hoses? Or do you have to buy them all seperatly? I'm going to buy a vac. hose dress up kit. I'd like to thank 13BAce for all of his advice with my car, he really does know what he's talking about. Now to go kick some honda ***.

What are you up to today?

I've still got a few bugs to work out, like a 1500 rpm idle, and the idle will go up and down (about 300 rpm) when I push in the clutch, and I felt a very mild hesitation once @ about 5500-6000. But other than that it is all good.

Try getting a hose kit from http://www.hosetechniques.com . You'll have alot of extra, but it comes in handy.

Try playing with the fast idle cam, or just adjust the idle. The fast idle cam will keep the motor revving at 1500-2000 until the thermowax crap melts. Do you still have coolant going to the TB? If you want to run a test for the fast idle cam disable it and see ifr the idle gets better. You'll see what I'm talking about at http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/...ody_coolant.htm .

Yeah, I will. Everything on the car is stock, I have to take it through emissions. The car is not even in my name yet, because of the emissions test, and it had a 2000 rpm idle.

After spending 19 hours working on it right after working a 9 hour shift, I just wanted to get it running and go home and go to sleep. Even though I didn't get to sleep untill 4:00 am.

It sucked, I almost caught the car on fire, I forgot to put one of the clamps back on the fuel line. I noticed it after taking the car on a mile test drive. Oops. Lack of sleep will do that.
