Well, i raced my best friend tonight, he has an 89 Grand Am with the quad-4,

no mods whatsoever, 5-speed, rust....well since neither of us have horns (:P)

we went on the third bright light blink, well i was ahead for a few seconds, till i hit 2nd, he took the lead from there on, now i never got more than 2 car lengths behind, but he still beat me, and he has no muffler i don't know a whole bunch about my car, but we both knew I shoulda won :P he stopped me after and asked me "What were u shifting at?" my reply "7-7.5k...." his reply "You shoulda wupped my ***........"................

you need to work on the engine before the system and body stuff,i have never seen the point of owning a fast looking car that runs like a civic

get some tools and learn to follow detailed instructions...that's what I do, and I've managed to stay alive trying to fix stuff

Yeah...I have also learned thatyou have to do the work yourself if you want it done right. The guys here know alot about the cars and can help you. I just took the transmission out of my car and put a new clutch in in just 2 days. Thats not bad since I have only worked on a 4runner. Just ask alot of questions if you get stuck. Its the only way to learn.
