I almost have everything out under the hood, but how do i get the wiring harness to come throught the firewall? what part of the dash do i need to take off to get it through. I already have the ECU out put i can't see where it comes through on either side, inside the car.

Take off the kick panel. Then you should see what you need to do.

1 more thing, what don't i need to take off as far as wiring goes for the Haltech? It doens't control all does it? I mean the it doesn't touch cpu controls, like lights and stuff, right? Or do i have to rewire the whole friggin car?

so let me get this straight, i take out all the wiring, from both the ecu and cpu? U know how there is a shitlaod of wiring on the drivers side that comes from the cpu, i take all that crap out, right? I figured out how to get the cpu wiring out, but didn't want to start if i didn't have to. One more thing i still don't see where to pull the ecu wiring out from, i have the kick panel out, but the wires go where i can't see, and none appear to goto the hole where all the wiring from under the hood goes to through the firewall.

I'd probably never sell the car complete. If I can't have it nobody can. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
[COLOR=purple] I hope this helps everyboby out on this wiring harness. I am doing a 91 T2 conversion on my 88 NA. I knew this was going to be a pain in the azz from the beginning, but... it will be a bad mofo when its done. I have already pulled the wiring harness out of the 88, the is no, none, nada wiring left in the car. There are 4 parts to the wiring harness...
PART #1- This is found on the passenger side of the car. It runs from all the engine sensors/components to the ECU. It runs from the engine to the ECU through the firewall. You dont need to pull the dash to get this one. If you are doing a Zankei-(86-88) to Kokei(89-91) A lot of things are different so it might be safe to change every part to the wiring. PART #2- This runs from the front of the car (ie: horn, headlights, relays) to the CPU located under the driver-side kick panel and over to the ECU area to the AC/heater assy's. I had to take the dash out to pull this one. PART #3- This runs from the CPU under the driver-side kick panel to the rear of the car(ie: tail-lights, fuel pump) PART #4- This runs from the battery to the starter . I havent pulled this one yet, so this is all I can tell you about this one. I hope this helps you guys out. By the way, if you are interested in doing a turbo conversion to your NA, I know where you can get front clips(1/2 cut cars) from Japan. It will cost ya about 3500, but you get a low-mileage motor and tranny and everything needed for the conversion, like the wiring harness, plus whatever aftermarket stuff the car has on it.. email me at brad_johnson@hotmail.com and I will send you the phone # of the only people who can find these for you.... |

If you pull it out inside the car then you can pull both the motor and harness out together.
