Well, I have to put a quart of oil in my car atleast once a week, and of course monday I forgot to put the oil cap back on and lost it.

Today, I go to put oil in my car, and theres this really back gas smell. I just put a PD on it not to long ago, so I knew it wasn't that. Come to find out, I check my dipstick and sure enough, it reeked of gas! So bad I'm sure you could light it up!

Question is, why is there gas in my oil? I searched, but couldn't find anything.

Thanks.

if you're adding oil once a week it sounds like your oil control rings are leaking... gas gets in, oil gets out... etc.

I cant be for sure its my oil control rings, because its does smoke alot first thing when I start it, but I've heard of the oil injectors dumping too much oil.

But that was my first guess: Oil in, Gas out.

Should I run premix just to be safe?

I tried to adjust the idle mixture, but I cant get to the variable resistor screw. Theres a bunch of crap on top that I cant clear out.

Could it be anything else besides the oil control rings? I kinda wanna eliminate the expensive work first.

Well I'll give you my experience with the gas smelling oil and you can take it as you want. When my car still had a stock motor in it I noticed that my oil started to get real thin and smell of fuel real bad. To make this short it turned out my injectors were leaking really bad(all 4 of them). I changed them and thier respective gromets and O-rings. The gas smell went away and my oil stayed thick. This was great until I found out that my motor was really low on compression. After trying to keep it alive for as long as I could it finally cracked an apex seal. When I took it in for the rebuild I could tell that all of my side seals were extremely worn from not being properly lubricated. Moral of the story is that your oil should not smell like gas and if it does try and solve the problem before you cause any more damage. May advice is to check and see if your injectors are leaking.

Welp, its not the oil control ring or the injectors, but my consistant flooding. I cleaned all the **** outta the variable resistor (thanks Rob- I didnt know you could just clean that **** out that easily).Injectors are ok. I flooded the engine 3 times today, therefore gas would pass and get into my oil...

I owe everyone some time...

Thanks...
