Hey guys. My car is an '86 N/A. I filled up my tank this morning because I was really low on gas. I Put in about 15 gallons and drove off. The fuel level gauge went to Full as normal, but the fuel light never turned off. I've never seen it do that before.

I drove around for half an hour after the fill-up, and it never turned off. Theres some serious heat going on in Southern Cali right now, might that have anything to do with it? Any help is appreciated.

Im no expert but sounds like your float in the tank is sticking, get to about 1/4 tank and have a couple of friends help you shove the car to the sides and up and down a few times to see if that will help, maybe some fuel treatment in case you have a filthy gas tank and/or sediment accumulation on the float, otherwise check your wiring coming out the tank or plan on dropping the tank to replace that float if the light bugs you that much that is.

He stated that his gauge went to full after he filled up, that would indicate that his float is not stuck.
