hey guys this is wierd..my car was running great, and it died one day cause i guess the fuel filter got clogged.. i cleaned it and it was running decent. but then i parked it for bout a week or so when i bought another car. i went out to try and drive it but my friend noticed that fuel was leaking out from underneath the passenger side of the intake right next to a creamish colored plastic circle. what do i have to do to fix it?

you have to pull the upper intake and replace that plastic thing

it might be good to check out all your hoses and grounds and stuff while you have the intake off, there's several simple reliability things you can do under there

 

Replace all of your vacuum and coolant lines while the UIM is off...you won't be sorry. Just make sure to do the lines one at a time.

 

yeah your P/D is leaking.. it's a common thing on older rx-7's.. the set terms are to replace them every 50,000 i think? hell i dunno.. they are faulty from mazda, and shouldnt leak in the first place. but they do, and my friend lost his first FC like that.. driving down the highway and suddenly burst into flames.. he pulled over right away, and car did have a chance.. but he did.



get it checked out, pull the upper intake manifold off, and you can see it on the fuel rail.. it's at the end. replace it, and like unique said replace all the vac lines that run under there, you'll prolly fix some vac leaks your car has. let us know how everything goes

hondas have the same damper, and they go bad once an a while. we actually think its partially the fuel, it exceeds the warranty limits of 10% alcohol

Arent underhood temps higher in a rotary than a honda? Thats what I thought it was.

 

Hondas get really hot under the hood...most small displacement high compression engines do.
