OK heres whats up, my fuel injectors refuse to seat properly and actualy seal even with new o-ring and grommets. the seats look perfectly fine but I cannot get them to seal at all. Any ideas? I got the o-rings and grommets from Mazdatrix.

Anyone want a 10th anny for $5k?

i sorta had the same prob, i have an s5 motor and the fuel rail is steel i actually had to bend it a little, to get a good seal, if you have an s4 motor your fuel rails are cast.

old o-rings successfully removed?

using wrong bolts in fuel rail?

every thing is down tight and new seals are in place properly. The injectors were previously cleaned and flow tested.

do you have that spacer in there?

SidewaysFC 07-19-2005 07:19 AM

mazdatrix.com has the spacer that you need

Sure you are using the rigth orings? S4 orings are different than S5 orings ebcause the S4 and S5 injectors have different size pintle caps

psyclo 07-19-2005 11:01 AM

That could be it, I did notice that the orings wern't as snug as I would have thought they should be.

Yes I have the spacer, I'm not a n00b here guys. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Anyone know the size o-ring I need?, since I dont really feel like paying $2 an oring from Mazdatrix and waiting for them to come in.

psyclo 07-19-2005 11:03 AM

OK so Mazdatrix only lists 1 type of oring 84-92?

And actualy the parts Fiche has the same part number for both series. Well faack...

I had someone suggest using motor oil to soak the rubber in so that it will seal better, guna give that a go while trying uber hard to get them to sit down just so.

S4 bottom o ring (aka bottom insulator) N326-13-257

S5 bottom o ring N350-13-257

psyclo 07-19-2005 11:35 AM

haha ok your talking about the bottom one, I was taliking about the 0ring that sits in groove at the top of the injector that goes into the fuel rail. The leaks occur between the fuel rail and the top grommet. The grommets are new and in perfect condition.

psyclo 07-19-2005 11:27 PM

Turns out that if you want the fuel injectors to seat properly you need to make sure the fuel rails are perpendicular to the fire wall or the orings and grommets wont seal right. I would geuss because of uneven pressureon the rubber. Apparently when I would tighten them down the fuel rail would shift just enough to let fuel by. I noticed this and held it in place with one had while tightening it with the other, jumper the fuel sys and wala no leaks!
