Anyone know how to get this thing open if the cable decides it doesnt want to help. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

On my FD the cable didnt break but the mechanism that holds the door closed is all kinds of messed up. Doesnt like to open 1/2 the time. Dont know if the FCs are the same as FDs but if you look inside the door, opposite of the hinge, there should be some sort of arm that holds the door closed. I just push and pull on that arm until the door pops open.
Hope that helps you some. --Andrew |
Try hitting the right side (side towards the fron of the car) with the palm of your hand. Thats what I have to do sometime cause mines startin' to get sticky. If that doesn't work, try setting a thin screwdriver on the left and pop it out.

Crow Bar.!

ive tryed proping the release open and taking a screwdriver and pulling it out but thats not working. It almost seems like the cables not hooked up.

There should be an emergency cable pull out inside the car.??
|
no emergency pull, try grabbing the cable itself from inside the trunk, then pulling on the door. If you grab the inside of the cable, meaning the
cable itself and not the housing, it should replease on you. Once you get it open clean the plunger really good, sand off any rough parts of the plunger, its plastic by the way, then lube it up, if you keep it clean and lubed it will give you pain free operation. |
my fuel door is like missing the whole opening mechanism, i have no idea where it is.

when my fuel door was acting up i took some wd-40 or any m.p.l and sprayed it on the lil plastic nipple looking thing by the fuel door and worked it in and out
|
mine was sticking once at a gas station, the nipple got stuck in the open position and the door wouldnt stay shut after fueling up. I found some 3in1 light oil inside the gas station, bought a bottle and it loosened it right up. few drops an some vigorous pressing on the plunger did the trick.

My release machanism works, but whatever forces it open doesn't. I use my key to pop it open after I release it. What is supposed to be there that makes it spring open?
