Yes na's do have a knock sensor.

sorry but no NA 86-91 rx-7 come stock with a knock sensors , maybe your confusing the sensor with something else??

or do you have a turbo engine swaped in or somethin???

if your car is a turbo engine, it would have a knock sensor located on ...s4: on the center iron near the oil filler neck area, then if it was an s5 t2 it would have a knock sensor mounted on one of the rotor housings above the spark plug area.

I may be mistaken but my safc instructions had a connection for the knock sensor in a S4 and it does read, my old wore out engine usually stayed about 50 or 60 counts, and the new stays about 10 to 20.

a s4 turbo II DOES have a knock sensor,

however a s4 NA, doesnt!

if you check the wiring diagram for a NA and hte pin out on the ECU, the same wire for the turbo knock sensor, is used on a NA for something else, like an emission solinoide or something.

Hmm, I was mistaken then, maybe I should disconnect that wire to the afc before it screws something up.
