Sweet ass writeup Baldy. ( https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR one for the writeup) Pics went good with too...And it got in the F.A.Q.!
Cool... |
alright!!!
mission accomplished: the s5 fuel rail works great in my s4... no leaks at all here's what i've found out tho: all s4 and s5 non-turbo primary fuel rails are interchangeble, but the turbo fuel rails has the fuel lines coming from the opposite sides.. the s5 secondary fuel rail will not fit in the s4... s5 fuel rail comes with the pd already attached as one piece and the screw is not there anymore, instead is a nub... so it wont leak (or very hard to leak from there) thanks everyone for all the support... now my car is almost as good as new.. |

Glad everything went well... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif |
wish I had gotten to this thread sooner. You can eliminate the PD, by running the fuel rails in parallel. I will try and post a picture off of ReTEDs site that has how to do it but I'm not sure if it will work.

So, I'd have to purchase all the AN fittings, the y-splitter block, and an aftermarket FPR? Is that right? If so, I'll just stick with my stock setup for now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I'm with 1988rdeT2, sounds like bad spark. But like Baldy said also check the pulsation damper. They do leak and will set your engine bay on fire. hot spart=nice and blue. I had this same prob with my 1st gen. Didn't smell the fuel but started back firing and would cut out/buck & higher rpm's Checked the spark and it was crap.

any idea where to get good coil packs?

Yes you have to buy quite a bit of extra parts, but you have the peace of mind that you don't have a little screw that could make your car catch on fire. I will pay the money for that. Just me though.
