So I drove to lunch (1 mile from the office), and when I came back out to go back the car will not start. It wount even turn over. Just does a clicking sound and nothing else.

Relavant data:

New PR motor - approx 15,- miles,

Fresh oil

Crane Ingition

Fresh plugs

New Battery - 4 mo. old

I have never had a starter problem, so I dont know what to do. I have heard of a push start, and I assume that will work to get it to run....but when I shut it off...will it not start again?

Any help appreciated! The car is stuck in the parking lot of the food joint. And I gotta get home today.

If the clicking sound is coming from the starter- smack the starter with a hammer- fairly gently. It's just jammed. It should start right back up.

If the sound is from under the hood- check your charging system (battery, alternator, belts, connections)

I'm almost positive that the click is from the starter. The reason is - because when I try to turn the key, I can feel the click on the floorboard by the clutch pedal...which is where the starter is located (correct?)

I'm pretty sure my connections are ok...I gotta get home before I can check for sure. It skinda tough to crawl around underneath the car in a shirt and tie

Its the starter, I had this problem this winter. Everytime you start try and start the car you are sending in fuel. So keep gas on the pedal once you get it started. The selinoide has gone bad. If you take it to a car store and check it, the motar works, but not under load.
