Well?
ftp's in
ftp's out
I would keep em in, unless you had some sort of functionality to keep them out (i.e. cold air)...
But hey, that's just me |
I prefer in, as long as they're in good condition. With them out it seems pretty obvious that something is missing.
IN!
They have been out for the past few years. Maybe Ill try in for a little while.
IN!
The JDMs are nice, and they actually function as a light. |
FTPs out would look good if the mount flange for them was cut off and there were air ducts coming off them into the engine bay for an intake inlet and some manifold cooling, but like pictured, it looks like the car is broken. I like them in. It makes the car look like it has eyes.
On a black car, you never see the flanges unless youre very close and looking right into them. Check out the pics in my other thread.
I put them in today, and theyre staying for a while. Its a nice change. |

If there was someway you can cut out the edges where the FTP's mount in, it would not look so bad on any colored car. I thought about keeping mine out, since they re really dirty, and need to be cleaned out. Car is Sapphire Blue. Take em out, keep em in? |
I like them in, the front end is noticeably missing something with them out
in but tinted. specially on a black car!!!!
I like them in, I paid the cost to have brand new one's too, others are right, looks odd with them out.

all tinted?
i like everything black on a car. taillights, blinkers, ftp's, fog lights. black rims, blacked out windows. everything...
like the ****** bat mobile or somethin. I just like cars that way. |
Leave them in, FC's look like trash without them..
last one, i promise
I have mine out, just because there dirty, so I took them out. There useless and I don't like anything on my car that is useless, and hey, you can save about 6ozs!
What does FTP stand for anyway? |
flash to pass. When your headlights are down and you pull the high beam switch to flash your lights, the headlights shine through those lenses instead of popping up the lights just to flash them.

I was driving on the interstate to go help one of my friends who broke down(in another rx7, nontheless), and just before I got to him, I hit a trailer fender in the road. It tore the center section of my front end out, shattered the underpan, busted the oil cooler, busted the radiator, and the sudden loss of coolant cooked the coolant seals. And I havent got around to fixing it yet. Its on the list of things to do, and getting very close to the top now though.
i have mine out because one was cracked.. so I left them out.. and my car is white too..
leave the pass. side out for function ie. cold air going into engine comp.

not to pick on you specifically but have you ever opened your hood? look around where this "cold air" would go with say the headlight down...ohh *smack* into the headlight bulb. With it open *smack* into some metal. i really dont see why people always leave just the one off and act like its ram air. by the time any of that cold air makes it to the filter its already warmed up and is useless as most of the velocity of it is lost on its trip to actually inside the engine bay. kevin. |

tint them and the sides a little darker and clean up your ftp's and fogs imo |
i thought more people liked them out. one of mine was cracked so i took them out, i was also attempting to get more air into my cold air filter. i never put them back on bc i think it looks so much better with them out
IN!! I dont like how it looks without them.
no one can convince me that no FTPs look better then new ones https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png
