OK, for those you you who don't remember (all of you) I put the driver's side of my TII into a curb at 60mph in february.

Up front I broke the wheel off, taking the brake rotor with it. I bent the LCA fairly bad and fudged the sway bar a bit.

out back I bent the control link and broke the hub in two places. also, the CV joint on the wheel end of the halfshaft is FUBAR as is the rear swaybar.

I now have most of my parts, and I know it will require front AND rear alignments, but my question is: How strong are the frames on FC's? All of my car buddies (including a Mercedes tech) say that frame damage is unlikely, but I thought I'd come and dip into the Well of FC Knowledge that is the 2nd Gen Forum.

Has anyone here dealt with a similar situation, or am I the only idiot with a heavy foot?

PS: also, how strong is the rear trailing arm? I can see that the tire rubbed it pretty good.

I bought my car with a similar problem, the horozontal link

in the rear bends easily from curbing, cheap to fix even with a

new one, less then $100

its a full frame car, your probably fine. Even if its not a hour

or so on the frame machine will make everything good, but I doubt

you will need it

The FSM has a bunch of frame dimensions in the body/chassis section that you could check yourself with a decent tape measure. If you can't find any problems then anything that minor can be corrected with an alignment.

Good luck
