yeah like winger said, fairly easy, probably 30min worth of work. I am doing it cause the car hasn't moved in 2 years so I want to make sure they are decent before putting them back on.

I got the calipers off the car and started to clean them up.

13BAce, are the hoses different from the calipers? If so, when mazdatrix sells the SS ones, are these the ones from the caliper or not?

Thanks

The hoses from the metal hose to the calipers are different. That's what Mazdatrix sells.

So I finally got out there tonight and pulled the front brakes off of my wrecked '86 in anticipation of selling the car. The rear brakes come off tomorrow. What a freakin' job. Cripes. :frown:

I tried rebuilding the 4 pistons off of my parts car. On one caliper two of the pistons were seized and on the other one piston was seized. Not worth the trouble. So I got rebuilt 4 piston calipers for $40.00 a side. And I have the power stop rotors and Axxis metal master pads waiting. Now to put them on.

13b - you said that the SS hoses mazdatrix sells are from the strut mount to the caliper, and those are what is different on the 4 piston?? Just want to make sure before I buy them cause I was reading that the SS hoses provide a stronger pedal because the hoses expand, but the hoses from the strut mount to the caliper are metal so they can't expand. I was just a little confused. Thanks

Mike

No, they replace the stock hoses, which go from the hard metal line to the caliper.
