Flames From Exhaust
#22
I have seen that the Turbos are easier to shoot flames with. Since the more boost you run, the more fuel you need. Rotarymans car (when it was an NA) shot little flames when he had a straight exhaust. Not as big as my car goes though, well, used to.

haha i hooked a spark plug on my exhoast in my black fb and it only shot flames when i let off the gas but that was stock with a streit exhuast, now with the 48mm dlha dumpin way to much gas it should throw a hefty flame when i get the exhuast redon on my gold fb without the plug

How do cops react?
I know my car did shoot flames all the time. I had somebody follow me for about 2 miles (work to gas station) and the counted how many times they saw flames. The total was 14. Everytime I hit the gas pretty much. Hopefully it won't do it as much when I get the car back on the road.

The reason most RX-7s shoot flames, especially the older models is due to the natural overlap in port timing requires a rich mixture for the car to run smooth. The other thing is that ignition timing is not advanced enough in the mid ranges, This coupled with the old 6 bit computer =(Slow Reacting) causes the exhaust gases to still burn in the muffler. After driving for a while the exhauset temperature heats the entire exhaust system causing flames to shoot out.

My N/A has shot some 5-footers before
every shift at 7500 would shoot 1-3 footers
I raced one of those sentra spec v's i was pulling the whone time and shooting flames every shift... his face was like
btw... this was on stock ports and stock ecu

With haveing the straight piping system in, does your gas milleage go down? I want to get straight pipes from the manifold back but i don't want to do it if i'm going to get shity gas milliage. I pay enough for gas as it is.
