hows your timing?

kevin.

ive restabbed it a million times.

i doubt its timing though, as spraying starter fluid the front of the motor right where the lim and block meet makes it rev up, meaning theres a leak there.

maybe my LIM srface isnt flat, i dont know. im really getting tired of ******* with it, i just want to drive the damn thing.

is there anything else in that area that can leak that i can check?

it only seems to bump up if i give it a real big spray around the front and top of the lim flange.

i mean, brand new gasket shouldnt leak? right? im ******* stumped.

spraying under the uim at all makes it jump up.

spraying it at lim to uim doesnt seem to though.

spraying it anywhere else at all doesnt seem to affect it.

something under there is leaking damnit.

EGR blockoff maybe? but its tightened and rtv'd like it should

i dont think the injector seals could leak enough to make it not run unless they were leaking fuel, which they arent.

hmm, the oil injectors in the block are still there, jsut capped off completely. maybe the caps are leaking? would that be a vacuum leak?

maybe i jsut have to go back over everything and completely reseal it? idk.

another problem, once it gets up to temp, i get a little smoke out the exhaust, and a bunch of smoke off of the downpipe/exhaust housing area of the turbo. its white smoke, is it leaking exhaust or jsut burning something or what? maybe the coolant isnt actually returning right, would it just sit in the turbo and burn up or?

j9 where are you when i need ya

j9fd3s 03-26-2007 02:56 PM

either the gasket didnt take, and or the lower injector seals are leaking too

j9fd3s 03-26-2007 02:59 PM

the smoke is just the oil from your hands, it should take 20 or so minutes to get hot and burn it all off

when i spray under the uim at all around the primary rail area it bumps up.

all the orings look good though, i even took it off and put them back in to double check.

could those be leaking enough to cause it to not run?

something down there is leaking goddamnit!

teknics 03-26-2007 05:44 PM

when you put the injector diffusers in did you line up the notches? or did you not put new diffusers in anyway?

kevin.

screen things in the block? yeah i used the old ones, they were fine.

Leetheslacker 03-27-2007 07:15 PM

missed the fpr line last time i put it together

it runs soo much better now but still no idle.

plus the CAS gear decided it wanted to chew through its wires, so i get to rewire that before i can play with it more.
