I'm not a mod or anything, but perhaps foul langauge should be restricted to the Gen D and the X forums only. To have a swear word in the title isn't very pleasing to me.

I don't get it.....didn't they use a manual tranny crossmember? Why would they have to ghetto-rig anything? All the stuff you need for the conversion is already built by Mazda, in plentiful easy-to-find manual donor cars.

they used a manual crossmember, but know how it has a big washer and a 24mm bolt thy used like no joke 8 washers and a 13mm bolt. They dont have proper bolts.

They used a 12mm and a 13mm bolt for the slave cylinder which were too long so they put washers on em..

LIke pretty much it had all diff type bolts all over. And i called him and asked if he changed the fluid he said yeah, and the fluid was low, chunky and Dark ...

Well given all this i coulda done it myself just would of taken me a longer time. And they only thing that would of been difficult is getting the crossmember made to fit the old automatic position....and taking off the flywheel nut which i bought the tools for...

And when i got the car back it has new scratches on the doors, and he broke a peice off my center console and other lil things like i have grease all over my velour seats **** like that. it was a number of things that shouldnt be there.....

My car wont see a mechanic anytime soon, took me 3 years to take the car to any mech or shop (besides emissions test). I rather **** up my car for free than pay to get a shittier job than expected.

Well i wouldnt of known if i didnt take it. from 1-10 i givve them a 6..For otehr stuff like tuning and performance i guess there better but for what i needed i guesss they werent great...

And the wizard mag is mines, and its mad old. I was using it to show my girlfrineds nephew who wanted to be outside, but he left and the mag stayed there

the frame itself isnt set up on a auto car for a manual, people make brackets to adapt them.

I dont know how many people he has working for him, but the case could very well have been he told the guy working on the car to do it and the guy didnt.

unfortunetly when you get busy you rely on others to do thier jobs right, paying someone good money im sure he felt he didnt have to check to see if the guy actually changed the fluid or not. Its a no win situation for the shop, if he wants to grow he has to hire people who he can rely on and sometimes it takes a few mistakes to catch up before he changes something.

Thats why when you go to some shops the wait is long and the bill is larger.

Jason, weve had our diffrences in the past, but honestly im over that ****. im sorry to hear about your bad experience and hopefully you and the guys at T&R can come to some kinda resoloution.

as rob and some others have said in the past, this kind of thing (dissatisfied customers) happens from time to time. even the shops that ppl are always praising on the internet can mess up sometimes too.

i always tell ppl the best way to know what shops do good work is to have them work on your car and find out for yourself because theres too many ppl on the internet giving 'endorsments' of shops when they have no experence with those shops. i hate when ppl praise or put down a shop when they have never been a customer there.

the second best way to get an idea of what shops have good customer satisfaction is to look at how busy they are. i mentioned in that other thread that any gas station can attempt to fix your rx7 and offer you zero wait time, but often the customer gets screwed. the shops with the long wait have long waits for a reason, they do quality work and lots of ppl realize that...

same thing goes for pricing. just because a shop offers you a job at a rock bottom price dosent mean they love working on cars so much that they'll practically do it for free, it means that they'll just make thier profit some other way, (sometimes using inferior parts, doing a rushed job, reusing old stuff instead of using new parts and hardware)

again, these are general observations and rules posted for the benifit of the rx7 comunity, not directed at T&R or jason specifically. i have been a customer of T&R in the past and was happy with thier work.

hope you have the car back together for rotorfest.
