Down side;

1, Carb tuning is becoming a lost art, but a couple books will give you the knowledge you need.

2, fuel economy

3, low rpm torque (due to lack of aux ports with holley setup)

Up side;

1, improved top end power

2, No need for expensive EMS systems.

3, No more 6pi, VDI, and all other junk associated with the restrictive stock manifold.

4, Proven, people have been running similar setups for years in high powered rotary cars.

and did I get the shopping list right???

intake and carb

old style distributor

fuel pump and/or regulator

anything else?
Your gonna need primary injector block offs, MOP block off,and 1980 style electronic distributor. And your alt bracket will need to be modified or replaced due to the advances on the distributor.

Get a good pump and regulator, im using the holley blue pump and reg.

thanks ronin, this is EXACTLY the kind of info I'm looking for.

Tuning carbs doesnt bother me, been doing it for decades, block offs dont bother me, shouldnt be too hard to make, alt bracket is no big deal. Got a brand new holley blue pump still in the box (used the regulator on old FB) so now hopefully I can find someone with an 80 style distributor and a decent FPR that needs some fuel injection stuff, hehe

i didnt have an issue with the dizzy interfering with the alt bracket. maybe there is a difference in dizzy's? i believe mine came off an 84 12A. look on ebay, got mine for like $20 shipped. i didnt really notice a difference on low rpm torqe. you open up the two aux ports with the carb manifold but its not like they are free flowin. the center plate is the only one that is constantly seeing fuel and air. the other four ports only get used when the secondaries open. in a way, it turns all the ports on the front and rear plate into aux ports. also, found a website you need to check out for jay-tech stuff - KGparts.com - website says they are new manifolds using the original jay-tech castings. look like the real thing to me. they also hug the side of the engine so it should work on my 13bt. like i said, the jay-tech intake made the holley intake feel like junk.

[/quote] Thats odd, are you using the dizzy from an auto trans 12a with single advance?

I did notice a little loss in low end to mid range, but i may be jetted a little rich. What jetting are you using? What acell pump discharge and cam do you have?

don't mistake me for a know-it-all! all i know is the dizzy is out of a 12A. it will hit the alt bracket if its advanced to the max, but but there's no way i would advance that far. as far as my carb, its a racing beat holley. i really don't know whats inside but soon i will be tearing it down and seeing whats in it. my 13B-T showed up today. i ordered the new double pumper from summit racing yesterday. now all i need to do is find an intake\exhaust manifold combination that will fit. anyone have any suggestions.
