Fd Uim On S5 Fc
#1
i've beeen reading around the forum and it seems like the fd uim swap is something that i might want to do... but i am still unclear on a few things.
will the uim bolt on to the s5 lim? i thought that i heard that the mounting bolts were the same and that the pipng sizes were the same too.
will i be able to run the bigger fd secondary injectors?
will my greddy fmic elbow/piping fit into the fd tb?
i'll need the fd throttle cable too right?
i know it's alot of questions but i appreciate any info.
thanks

1. No, it won't. There is a gap between them that needs a spacer w/an S5 and FD gasket. It's very expensive, this little piece of metal, at least for the time being . I hear you can get around having to use it with some creative grinding, but didn't know about that route, or I would have tried that.
2. Not sure, I have an aftermarket rail but I'm sure that those or some other bigger than stock ones can be found that fit.
3. No, it won't, they're not the same size T/B. You'll need a Greddy FD elbow cut and welded straight if you want to keep the same piping-the diameter of the FD elbow may be bigger than the FC piping though, I'm not sure. I haven't seen one up close yet.
4. Yeah, use the FD one.
That's about all I got

1. The UIM and LIM can be port matched, and the bolt holes in the upper can be enlongated.
2. FD injectors are side feed while FC are top feed. Just stick with the top feed ones.
3. You have to use the FD TB and elbow.
4. A FC n/a throttle cable will fit with a custom bracket to hold the cable. Its tight, but fits.

and what about on an S4?? same thing??
aslo, let me make sure i have things cleared up here
to get it to fit u need to enlongate the mounting holes and port match the FC lim??? then u need the FD throttle cable?? if i have this right then i think ill go a head and get the FD uim and throttle body
also, a little off topic, but what are some differences in the TB from S4 TII FC to FD??

In any case it can be installed with or with out the adapter, just more labor intensive without the adapter. And yes you need an S5 LIM to undertake the swap.
