I am using a S5 LIM from a JDM motor so there may be small differences. But here are a few pics to see the porting and hole modifications I did.

without gasket

Then you just widen the holes on the end bolt holes to line up the manifold, using the center bolt hole as a guide, took me about 20 mins with the dremel. But I take my time. and these pics are not finished, I am working on the polishing of the manifold now and will finish port the UIM when done.

It kinda looks like you might have a problem with coming to close to the edge, opposite that center bolt. Can't really tell from the picture though.

roadkill669 03-09-2004 11:47 AM

It does look a little too close for comfort.

What about a S4 manifold. Anybody got pics of that

roadkill669 03-09-2004 12:34 PM

Just thought of another thing

What about the LIM? What are the differences between the FD and FC?

roadkill669 03-09-2004 02:23 PM

I just found an adapter made by FEED. It goes from the 2nd gen LIM to the 3rd gen UIM. Dont know if its a S4 or 5 though. They want $380 for that. Thats incredible. So im going to try to make one.

Heres the link

Its a lot easier to do what I did... and as far as the spacing goes, I have about a 1/8 in to seal on, more than enough

is it possible to use the FD LIM mani on a S5 block?

Nope. Won't bolt to irons.

A buddy of mine Had an Adapter Machined to do this.. it looks nice.. on his built T2..

roadkill669 03-10-2004 12:16 AM

Where did he get it from? The company I emailed today asked for me to buy the FEED one so they can reverse engineer it, then send the FEED one back.

anyone have a pic of a FD LIM and a FC LIM manifold?

maybe you can make an adapter plate to work here instead. then u can use all those divided manifolds for the turbos for a FD

ioTus 03-10-2004 05:09 AM

Yeah i still dont see why the 3rd gen LIM wont work on the 2nd gen.

Course, i've never seen a 3rd gen LIM to compare the 2nd gen too. Yeah lets see some pics!!

This is an interesting mod! If nothing else, it just LOOKS cooler!

RETed 03-10-2004 08:51 AM

Port postions are significantly different.

We're talking more than 1/4" off!

Check the center primary ports location versus the center bolt hole between the two lower intake manifolds.

hIGGI from the other forum was thinking about selling those adapters.

If you're serious about it, drop him a PM over there.
