you sure you have the right belts on your car teknics?

being a ASE certified or whatever you should know belts come in

different widths as well as lengths, maybe you dont have the right

widths on your car?

you would think the master mechanics would have questioned why

they arent in the grooves of the pulleys?

and I dont see the big deal about the FD alternators either, why pay for

a used alternator, then have to make it fit, when you can take your FC

alternator to a local rebuilder and have them upgrade it for you. Hell, they will even give you a warranty with it.

the belts ARE in the groovs of the pullies.

the flat side is contoured to the shape of the grooves in the pullies, seriously if it wasnt freezing out id go take pics. perhaps later when the sun comes out.

Based on the fuzzy pictures in your sig, at least one of the alt belts is correct, because I can see the label and writing on the OUTSIDE, where it belongs. So, if both of your alt belts look the same, then you're ockey docky! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

No, I meant the pictures in teknics' signature, I'm assuming they go to his website.

Not every local rebuilder can or even wants to do such a job. I had tried getting somebody to upgrade my alternator a few years ago. They all treated me as if I was crazy, especially when they found out it was for an RX-7.

13b ace I got the same responce. When I said it was an import alt they where like Npe I dont touch that.

Fitting the alt is cake. only thing needed is a bolt w/ nut for the tensioner thats it. Same bottom bolt which is eaiser to put in the fd alt cause the nut stays on the inside of the alt compared to the fc alt which you have to put on from the out side. and you even use the stock belts no gueesin belt sizes or nothing. simplest and most cost effective electrical mod available. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

Eventually you can find people who will do the work for you, but sometimes it's not worth the time or aggravation. I hate having some guy who can't even spell his own name tell me he knows better than me. The alternators silverrotor is selling are new. So for the price he's charging you can't go wrong.
