and the car has visited the painter for a fresh coat of paint in the engine bay.

it has turned out very sexy!

the buildup could begin! cleaning everything and using all new nuts and bolts

this is how it is sitting right now

have to work out some little stuff, then the engine can be dropped into place.

the next two weeks i have to go on some buisiness trips to germany and the UK, so dont have much time. but when i am back the engine will be put in!

at the end of january, i have a week off to finish things up, so then the key will be turned!

got the key from http://rotary13b1.com/blankRotorKeys.html

there is only a limited batch, so maybe if you're lucky...

the gauges are nothing fancy, just some Stri X-line gauges

had finished up my brake lines so i am forever free of ABS!

on the sotck non-abs master there is a connection on the bottom for the front-left brake, nut i decided to stcik with this master and fabricate my own lines. pressure distribution is same as stock

then i mounted the Sard FPR, but maybe need to mount it somewhere else, just need so see how it fits with the intercooler piping

then the weekend started again and could really get busy!

after having some trouble removing the pilot bearing, i replaced it and got on with mounted the new ACT clutch

the egine is in already, dont have any pics of the work, but we filmed it all the way through. will be posting this asap

so for now you have to settle for some pics!

in the last pic you van also see the oilcooler mounted back in place.

Very very nice project.

Question on the movie though - What took so long?

You put the engine in separate from the transmission so it looks like you hit the infamous "cant align the engine to trans" issue. I usually pull engines and trans together and reinstall the same way to save time trying to align all the bell housing bolts.

Very good so far... now we want a startup video
