Hi guys i am a new member and i have a Fc TII turbo , i have big problem with my transmission , I can't do quick change from 2 to 3 and 5 gear is very tight.

I am confused about the solution many people here in Greece they suggest me to look for a FD gearbox because they believe that are much better newer and with better feeling to shifter.

So is a FD gearbox fits to a FC bell housing ?

Will the shifter be to the same position ?

I need modification to driveshaft ?

What do you believe is better to do a rebuild (is too expensive here) or to try this swap ?

im pretty sure the trans will bolt on to the bell housing but the rest cant help you there. I think the FD is a pull type clutch so you would have to use the flywheel(with matching counter weights on the motor)clutch, pressure plate, slave cylinder and then you have to deal with mounting the trans which will not bolt up to the chassis.

just bolt the bell housing from the fc to the fd gear box, also you will need to remove the rear tail stock and install the fc tail on to the gear box so you have the proper mount location and shifter location. there is a large differance in shifter design and location from the fc to fd. but the core gear box is the same.

get a used FC trans , unless these FD trans are very plentiful and cheap, which would lead me to believe FC ones would be as well

Is your shifter loose? When it is in gear, can the shifter wiggle around? You might have bad shifter bushings.

Have you checked the transmission fluid?

A new transmission may not be the only solution.
