faulty fuel gauge

my fuel gauge only reads Full or empty.

when i get a full tank of gas it works then when

2 to 3 days when it goes down to empty.

PLzz help i hate putting gas every week just to make sure i have gas

check the float in the tank its attached the the fuel pump

gas is a bitch

20 bucks a weeks for me i think thats half tank

my full is 40 bucks

Has it always done this? A friend of mine replaced his fuel pump and bent the float arm a little, so his gauge always says he has more gas than he really does.
