Of course I drive up 2 very large hills to get to my house.. that is why the call it a Plateau... so i am just waiting for the day when the ******* tranny fly's apart. Oh yea when i pulled the tranny from the 88, there was a huge hole in the bell housing, did not look stock and is not in any other rx-7 tranny I have had out... guess that should have been a clue.

**** I think I have a tranny swap down to 3 hours, that includes 6 beers and 3 piss breaks to get rid of the beer.

Well it appeared that they blew the clutch so bad the put a hole in the bell housing. Oh well, all will be well soon. I will have a replacement tranny and I will be a happy idiot.

Problem solved. It was the flywheel nut backing off :o

The reason it seemed sturdy before was because the tranny input shaft was holding the clutch and flywheel in place.

Now that I know whats wrong, I should have her running nicely tomorrow evening! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

PS - I will also take pics of the garbage bag full of carbon I got out of 13baces exhaust I bought from him https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif
