Put all leading plugs in, that means 4 BUR7EQ's we can lean out the low end with the SAFC if need be. Ported engine will cuase the map sensor to give false reading to the ECU.

[quote name='j9fd3s' date='Sep 7 2005, 10:51 PM']you wanna hook the air pump to the acv, and rig the acv so that it directs air into the exhaust ports all the time. this will drop the hc and co like a rock.

if its still not passing, you may have to tweak the afc a tad

[quote name='Cheers!' date='Sep 8 2005, 06:46 AM']Just bypass the ACV completely and hook up the airpump output to the input of the cat. Then subtract some fuel. Add some alchol, clean your air filter, put fresh plugs in and cross your fingers.

the greatest impact Iw ould say is the airpump being rigged to supply constant air to teh cat, and new plugs.

All good stuff, I really appreciate the input, thank you all.

As it turns out the hot rod council is going to grant me special interest plates for the car, so it will soon be a no emissions ride, maybe not before sevenstock but certainly after.

Buzzn2: we will sort out the bugs after I yank the emission's garbage, you came thorugh big time for me on my piece of **** car, man, I really appreciate it!

I will square up with you and Rob the first of next week, thanks again!

that doesnt work as well as putting the air to the exhaust ports, thats where it is supposed to go.

think about it, if you put the air into the exhaust ports, its gets to mix before it sees the whole cat.

if you just hook the airpump up to the cat, the air only sees the last half of the cat.

its very easy to rig the acv so that its "port air" all the time, it work really really well

I never wanted to run them in the first place, but I was told long ago, when I started this project, that there was no way in hell I could get the plates.

Now I regret not doing a more radical engine, oh well, it's just an excuse to build another car! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
