I'm using the Mazda filters now but I never understood why people insist that the OEM filter for any car is the best, yet these filter companies who all they do is make filters aren't as good.. What about the Purolator Pure One? I used to use nothing but those.

i only used three different filters mazda,pure one and K&N. i think i'm gonna stick with the K&N they are cool. you can use a socket to loosen it up !

the japanese mazda one has build quality, racing beat used to have a chapter in their catalog about how crappy non-oem filters are. actually if you're that bored theres an oil filter test website

those i heard were very good. I like fram and k&n. I dont like the mobil one or bosch

lol thats why I use the K&N, I like the fact that you can get a socket or wrench on it!

or you can just buy the tool that allows you to use a

ratchet on any oil filter.



And still be cheaper then the K&N.

Why do you guys torque the bejeezus out of them? I just put them on as tight as I can twist them on. Wearing rubber gloves while working on my car definitely helps get a solid grip on the can.
