i dont know what kind of exhuast to get.... i kinda want to stay away from the weed-eater sound of a straight through exhuast like a greddy or apexi cuase they are basically just chrome really high priced glasspacks.. or woolpacks whatever they are nowadays... but im leaning more toward either a flowmaster, magnaflow, or borla exhuast system for a deeper throaghtier sound... but ive never heard what a flowmaster sounds like on an rx7.... if anyone has a flowmaster setup or anything besides a basic straight through exhuast let me know how you like it and what it sounds like....

i would get a corksport system and just add a straight through inline resonater to quite things down, or a racing beat there exhaust system is EXPENSIVE but it is VERY quite

Do not get a Flowmaster setup for your RX-7. I had one on my car and it rotted away in like 2 years. I dont think that it could hold up to the heat that it put out. Then I got a Borla system. This system is very good. a nice sound to eat, plus it is covered by the million mile warranty. I will try to post up a vid of my car with the exhaust, but I cant promise anything.

I hope this works.

I don't recomend the Corksport single sided exhaust even with a pre silencer, one of my friends has it and it's loud as hell. If I recall correctly, 120db's at idle. His setup is a racing beat header and pre silencer and the corksport catback.

On my TII I've got the greddy power extreme. It has a really deep sound even at full throtle. At cursing speeds its quite enough that you can carry on a normal converstion with out having to yell. I'll try to get an audio clip for you. It's expensive but worth it I think.

Wow I guess you cant read, or whom ever ordered it for youcant read. It says on the box and in the cataloges, not for rotary use. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

I have true duals RB to the y-pipe then just some ebay mufflers and it sounds agressive and not ricy.

i've always wondered what a flowmaster would sound like on a seven. I bet it did sound good even though it didn't last long.

cps87rx7se 10-17-2005 11:53 AM

I bought the car with the Flowmasters on it. I did not put them on myself. And yes, HOOKED ON FONIKS WORKD FOR ME!

Ive got the RB cat back (still have the cat and stock headers... far as i know anyway), and it sounds really nice, and looks good too

Chill man,

This is half of my exhaust, I have to have a new bumper before I can finish it.

Its really loud, but I am going to add another muffler once I get a new bumper, hopefully it will cut the noise in half.

i have a straight exhaust to a flow single in dual out 40 series on my fb. at idle its not so bad but it gets pretty loud and doesnt really sound all that great. i dont think it sounds that bad, but its def not good

4RotorRocket 10-17-2005 05:44 PM

I have a custom 3" turboback exhaust with no cats & a magnaflow muffler

It sounds pretty damn good but it's a bit loud lol

BoneT2&Harmony 10-18-2005 01:11 AM

I have a GP Sports: http://us.share.geocities.com/crazymestizo...eoofexhaust.MPG

It's a full dual 3" exhaust (80mm to be exact). It DOES NOT narrow down at the y-pipe like all the other duals do. Its an actual 3". Only other dual 3" exhaust I could find was the RE-Amemiya, and they were like 3 times as much as the GP Sports. This is with NO cat or presilencer, and on a streetported tii s4 engine.

Chill man,

I was being sarcastic!

matts86fc3s 10-18-2005 05:15 PM

i saw this full exhaust kit on ebay made my Tsudo something... it came from japan... im not going to get it but i liked the way it was set up... a single resonator between the manifold and y-pipe... then 2 more resonators (one on each side of the y-pipe) then into the 2 mufflers... its the same setup im doing with either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch piping with the 3 small resonators (or just one big one between manifold and y) then into 2 magnaflow polished street series mufflers... i wan a resonator to give that deep tone... i got 2 buddies with civic si's one has a resonator and one doesnt, both with same muffler... one with resonator just soudns beefy and mean... one without... reminds me of weedeating around the house....

jimmyv13 10-22-2005 12:08 PM

An old friend of mine had an 87TII with some flowmaster and it sounded horrible. WAAYYYY too loud, even when it was new and it just got louder and louder. He had the RB 2.5" DP and straight pipe to the muffler in the stock location. If you want quiet perofrmance spend the loot and get something good. I don't mean a bolt-in system either, a good exhaust shop and weld a good system with thick pipes and mandrel piping, then just choose your muffler.

rotary_pwr 10-24-2005 04:05 PM

i would suggest the Borla exhaust as well...i know they are a good reliable brand...so check out their site https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

fc3s4utnv 10-24-2005 05:09 PM

Borla is crap, every "system" we have installed has started cracking within six months and we have to go back in and weld it up.
