I was looking to get all new exhaust. I was looking at the Rx7.com RP exhaust, with the Bonez Main Cat Replacement Pipe, and Racing Beat headers. I know that the Bonez Pipe and the RP exhaust will bolt together with no problems, but I didn't see anything on the racing beat site to say the headers were a direct replacement for the stock manifold. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knew whether it would all bolt together just fine, or if I'd need to do any welding work.

click on mazdatrix. they have everything to make a complete kickass system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RacingBeat headers, whichever ones you get, are a direct replacement for the exhaust manifold, but not in size, the headers are longer than the stock exhaust manifold.

not sure if the header and converter will bolt right up to each other, you may have to get a pipe made or some welding.

i used pacesetter headers a bonez cat and a stock exhaust. it was a bit faster but it will be very loud and still not that fast LOL

definitly NOT worth the degree of loudness it will be, nor the trouble.

Get the bonez pipe, keep your exaust manifold ( not to mention youll be lucky not to break at least one bolt trying to get the old one off ) and do a cat back exaust.

The bonez unit bolts from the exhaust manifold back to the y-pipe.. the header would be too long and you would have to cut the bonez and reweld new flanges on.. keep your stock manifold and get a racing beat cat-bat..

I have a question...why does it seem that everyone is knocking a header set-up? Are the power gains not that great? What about with a mild streetported NA....with headers. Im just wondering why you guys are talking about NOT getting them. Yea, so what about the breaking a bolt, **** happens, thats why they make an ez-out and visgrips. Plus gives you a good reason to get new ones.

get the header, the stock manifold sucks.

the RB header is lighter than the manifold + precats it replaces also... in addition to the power gains.

the header and precat elimination is where most hte power gains come from in upgrading the exhaust, cat-back won't have much effect on performance at all with the stock manifold and old (likely clogged cats, even if they arent clogged, cats from the 80's don't flow well).

best thing if you need to pass emissions is get the RB header, and get the high flow cat from mazdatrix that bolts right up to the RB header and the stock Y pipe. You will want to do cat-back at this point to make it sound good.

I love headers, some of us just advise against the whole thing because the power gains dont seem worth it to some of us for the annoying sound of a N/A rotory engine, dont even bother with a stereo at that point, or carrying on conversations at normal levels. I can gurantee after a few months when the novelty of the header wears off the noise will drive you crazy, not to mention the nice addition of rattles youll get from the inside of the car.
