Hi again. I'm seriously crowding the forum (really don't mean to) but the rotary engine is just too interesting not to get information about. So thanks for all the help in advance. My topic of discussion this time, is about exhausts.

I've been hearing only really two exhausts being mentioned, the racing beat, and the Apex N1. Could someone explain the differences between the two? I'd love an F1 style sound at high RPM's. Oh, and just in advance, I think I'd prefer, well, not a big jump in horsepower, but a large bump in the powerband, right where it counts. I use more mid range power for spirited driving in my other car, and am most comfortable with this setup, and have been known to drag race every now and then. Thanks again.

the racing beat is probably the quietest ehaust you can get for a rotary but also makes the most power. if you get the turbo back you will gain about 50 horses. the apexi is fairly loud and will give you about the same horsepower gain as any other ehaust. if you want an f1 sound you won't get it with a rotary. they sound very different than any other car but it's music to my ears. there are definately other exhaust options that could be cheaper or more expensive. for example the corksport is basically the same as the apexi in looks and such but will run you a few hundred dollars left. hope this helps

I don't think that the RB cat-back flows a whole lot better than stock, but I hear it is very high quality system and sounds awesome. The N1 is extremely loud and is really meant for turbo cars because it flows so damn well.

yeah, same thing with the Corksport and LOUD. They make the Corksport in all 3" now for turbo apps too.

there are several vendors for exhausts, hks, greddy, apexi, racingbeat etc. the racing beats are quieter, and more stock looking generally

How does the racing beat exhaust fare with other exhausts? I'm not looking for peak horsepower, as much as I'm looking to shift the powerband up in the mid-rpm range.

i'm not really sure if there is an advantage to the racing beat over any of the other ones except for the quietness. I do know that the diameter won't be big enough for my upcoming turbo upgrade. Right now its fine, but for the T4 i will soon have to get something at least 3in or larger. Quietness be damned
