it is not an easy task, but my tuner tells me it was good for about 30 hp
30 HP? Then I better get to work on mine. My FD upper intake has been sitting with all of my junk for 3 months. I better get it on my car before vosko's is finished. :sigh:

no i did it all but he retuned ito n the dyno after i was done, 13 b ace the power also comes from boring out the stock upper manifold where the tb is, and don't forget to polish the inside of the t.b. and knife the edges.

I have the stock TB on my 88 would it be worth the time & effort to bore it out? Oh yeah, I work in a machine shop, so I'd be doing it myself. Do you think there would be much of a hp increase?

Thanks soul assassin. I'm going to try to find an extra 89-91 lower intake manifold before I do it so that I don't have any downtime with my car. A local shop said they would do the port matching, but I don't want to leave my car--bad experiences.:sigh:

You have any idea how much bigger I should bore them out? Maybe like 10% - 20%? I'll have to got pick up a used TB and take a look at it. Maybe I'll give the people at Atkins a call and ask them how much bigger to go.

Maybe if it isn't a big pain in the *** I'll offer this service to other people. Make a little $ on the side :tounge:

Well if i ever do get around to this, which i eventually will, how would i do a setup from the FD TB to my Airfilter? since my car is not turbo - TB from the FD is facing the opposite way of my TB.

Does anyone know a place where they would port and polish my intake?
